With over 12,000 spaces, parking at Birmingham Airport isn’t a problem. Car Park 1 and Car Park 2 & 3 are only a 1-minute walk to the terminal, while Car Park 4, Car Park 5 offer a free shuttle bus that takes you to the terminal in 3-5 minutes.

While Car Park 1, Car Park 2 & 3, Car Park 4 and Car Park 5 can accommodate vehicles for any length of stay, their proximity to the terminal make them the ideal solution if you're taking a shorter trip. For passengers travelling in large groups, the Valet Parking service takes the headache out of getting everyone to the terminal at the right time. Park outside the Valet Parking point and your car will be parked for you; ready and waiting for you when you return.

Birmingham Airport car parks are both cost-effective and convenient. If you’re taking a short break or travelling for business, the car parks closer to the terminal are ideal. However, if you’re travelling on an extended break, Car Park 7 is the most cost-effective option. Pre-bookable spaces take the stress out of parking, and can save you money too.

How to get to Birmingham Airport

Directions:

Exit the M42 at junction 6 and join the A45, and just follow the signs to the airport.

From the north-west (Stafford, Stoke, Manchester, Liverpool): Take the M6, M6 Toll, M42

From the north-east (Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Sheffield, Leeds): Take the M1, M42

From the east (Coventry, Northampton): Take the M6, M42

From the south-east (Banbury, Oxford, Bicester, London): M40, M42

From the south-west (Worcester, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol): M5, M42

Short stay airport parking

If you are planning to drop off or pick up passengers then there are several available options to meet your needs and guarantee hassle free parking. 

Dropping off

Premium Set Down offers convenient parking for those who are looking to drop off passengers just outside the terminal. Premium Set Down is a 1 minute walk away from the terminal and it costs £6 for the first 15 minutes. It is a great option for those who wish to take a short walk to the check in desks with a lot of luggage or young children. 

Drop off is also a great option for those who don’t mind the 5-10 minute walk to the terminal. The first 10 minutes of parking is free and the terminal can be reached on foot via the covered walk way. Passengers are also able to get to the terminal via the free shuttle bus adjacent to Car Park 5.

Please note that Drop Off has a no return within one hour policy in place.

Picking up

If you’re meeting passengers then Car Parks 1, 2 and 3 are the most convenient. These multi storey car parks are adjacent to the terminal and only a short walk from the Arrivals gate, making it easy to access for passengers and drivers. Tariffs start from £9.50 for up to 1 hour.

Each of the car parks at Birmingham Airport has facilities for those with reduced mobility or disabilities. All information required for disabled parking can be found on each car park page.

Motorcycle parking

If you are looking for a designated parking area for motorcycles then please head towards Car Park 2. This car park provides motorcycles with a designated covered area for motorcycle parking. Simply follow signs to Car Park 2 from the airports access roads. Take the first left after entering the barriers and follow the signage to the sheltered area.

There are 8 designated bays available and it is based on a first come first serve basis.

Please note that anchor points are not available, and for security reasons bikes will be removed if not parked in the designated areas.

Check-in at Birmingham Airport

Birmingham Airport only has one terminal, but it is served by 115 check-in desks and 27 self-service kiosks. Each is clearly marked, so there needn’t be any doubt about which check-in desk you’ll need to report to. The majority of airlines recommend that you check-in 90 minutes before departure. Some request that you check-in earlier, so it’s worth contacting your airline to ensure you are on time.

It can be worth arriving early, if you’re travelling during the busy summer months or are catching a long haul flight. Pre-booking your parking space means less time hunting for a spot and a more leisurely and stress-free check-in.

Shopping and Dining at Birmingham Airport

From designer brands to those last-minute essentials and the Duty Free shop, Birmingham Airport has a wide range of shopping facilities. There’s also a superb selection of dining option, from family-friendly diners and fast food outlets to refined wine and champagne bars.
