Parking for Edinburgh Castle

When arriving in Edinburgh by car, head for the city centre and you’ll find the iconic castle at its heart, on top of the Royal Mile, the cobbled street between the Castle and Royal residence Holyrood Palace.

The castle offers no parking itself, but a number of NCP car parks can be found nearby.

  • Edinburgh Castle Terrace - A short climb away from the castle overhead, you’ll find 750 spaces available at Edinburgh Castle Terrace, an ideal base for the city centre, August’s festivals or the Tattoo.
  • For parking just off the Royal Mile, our 297-space car park provides easy access to Edinburgh Castle as well as nearby Holyrood, the seat of Scottish government.
