Parking in Truro

The county town of Cornwall and its only city, Truro is England’s most southern city and is a bustling, busy little place packed with character. It’s a city in name only, as just a short walk or bus ride will put you right out in the middle of typically Cornish countryside, with winding lanes and charming villages. Truro is incredibly compact, which means the best way to see all its attractions is to park at NCP’s Truro car park at Highcross on St Austell Street and take a leisurely stroll into the centre.

Points of interest

Truro’s cathedral is not only the dominant feature in the landscape, but its Cornwall’s only cathedral, making it a significantly ecclesiastical site. The epicentre for the Arts in the city is The Hall for Cornwall, which is a regular venue for National Theatre productions, as well as a full programme of dance, music and shows for all ages. Park at Highcross car park if you’re attending a show at the venue, and you won’t have to worry about finding a parking spot before the curtain goes up.

Royal Cornwall Museum

Cornish culture is one of the most distinctive and unique in the UK. The Cornish are one of the last true ‘Celtic’ people, with their own language and history. The Royal Cornwall Museum charts the county’s history, from the earliest known settlers responsible for remarkable landmarks like the Mên-an-Tol, through to tin mining, fishing and even ‘wrecking’ and smuggling. Car parks in Truro can fill up quickly, so if you’re heading to the museum then park at Highcross car park, as there's plenty of car park spaces available.
