Worthing
Parking in Worthing
Tucked between the English Channel and the South Downs is West Sussex’s largest town. Its location gives it a particularly mild microclimate, earning the town the monogram of ‘Sunny Worthing’. Parking in Worthing can be challenging, as the metered street spaces fill up quickly while others are for residents only. Make use of NCP’s Worthing car parks and enjoy a stroll around this quintessentially English seaside town.
Points of interest
Worthing has become something of a magnet for artists, and you can see examples of local artists at the East Beach Studios, or the museum’s accompanying art gallery. Head here in August and you’ll catch the Worthing Birdman competition, where the foolhardy or just plain foolish fling themselves off Worthing Pier in an attempt to ‘fly’ the furthest while wearing a series of increasingly bizarre costumes. During June and July the Worthing Open Houses event sees around 45 homes turned into art galleries, showing local crafts and artwork. Park in either Broadwater Bridge or Union Place car park in Worthing centre for easy access to all the town’s attractions.
